ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023: Captains' Insights and Expectations.

In the next 45 days, there will be 48 matches at 10 world-class venues. Starting with a repeat of the 2019 final, England will take on New Zealand in the opening match of the tournament at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium.

Celebrity photographer Rohan Shrestha captured the official image of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 prior to that game at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The 10 captains participated in an interactive panel discussion with host Ravi Shastri and England's winning captain, Eoin Morgan, where they discussed their outlooks and goals for the upcoming six weeks.

Australia's captain:

I don't think there are numerous occasions all over the planet where you feel like around 50% of the world is tuning in, and it seems like that at whatever point India plays Pakistan On the planet Cup" said Australia's captain Pat Cummins. It's one of those situations when, while not being personally involved, you still feel compelled to watch and listen to all the comments and fervor about the game. Therefore, the fact that it is taking place in this stadium is fantastic. There could be in excess of 100,000 individuals.

India's captain:

"I've always said that, you know, every leader sitting here wants to achieve something special for their country," Rohit Sharma remarked. The 50-over World Cup has always been a dream of mine, and I suppose it is for everyone seated here as well. It is something extremely special. One thing I can guarantee—and I'm confident that everyone already knows—is that people in this country like cricket just as much as they adore their team. But rest convinced that this tournament will be excellent.

Pakistan's captain:

"We received good hospitality, and we didn't expect that, but I think based on the feedback we've received, everyone enjoyed it," Babar Azam remarked. It doesn't feel like we're in India because we've just been in Hyderabad for a week; rather, it seems like home. It's been fun, and now is a perfect chance for everyone to participate fully and enjoy the competition.

England's captain:

The team has essentially been together since the beginning of the revolution you stated, and I believe you properly mentioned throughout the game, according to Jos Buttler. Since the young players in England are dedicated to upholding a particular style of play, I believe we can safely say that this has the highest potential of being successful. We may occasionally take it for granted, but we've come to terms with it, and we want to keep pushing the envelope and staying ahead in that way.

Afghanistan's captain:

"As mentioned earlier, we need a bigger crowd and more support; we hope that people will come there and support us in the stadium," Hashmatullah Shahidi remarked. Additionally, we have some excellent spinners and favorable circumstances, and he will be with us while we bat as well. I think that during this World Cup, we'll discuss how we can play excellent cricket and bat really effectively.

Bangladesh's captain:

We have prepared well, in my opinion, Shakib Al Hasan stated. We are most likely the third or fourth team in the Qualifier point system if we consider the four years since the 2019 World Cup. So now that we've performed well together, it's our turn to deliver. The nation has larger expectations than before, and our squad is prepared for them.

Netherlands' captain:

"I believe that every game in this tournament will be challenging," Scott Edwards remarked. Pakistan, though, is undoubtedly a very strong team. But yeah, we're eager to begin the competition. Pakistan is present in Hyderabad.

South Africa's captain:

"I believe it to be a format that is applicable to all teams. I won't argue that it's inherently advantageous for us because many players on various teams have played and excelled in India. It's a tremendous opportunity to come here and enjoy some exciting times, but it's also undoubtedly fraught with new obstacles, so I believe we can only really accept it for what it is. We're happy about it, so.

Sri Lanka's captain:

Well, it's an exciting time for us, Dasun Shanaka stated. While we've recently struggled with injuries, we also have a few solid records. As a group, you are aware that we have been anticipating the World Cup. Everyone wants to convey the message that they are here to compete successfully in this competition.

New Zealand's captain:

As you indicated, everyone begins at zero in any other event, according to Kane Williamson, and as you move from one tournament to the next, teams and opponents change. For us, concentrating on that type of cricket gives us the best chance of success and the kind of commitment we want to make. We might occasionally take it for granted, but we've come to terms with it, and we want to keep pushing the envelope and staying ahead in that mode. This is unique because it will be a fantastic opportunity for cricket. The sport is well-supported and is adored by many people. We are therefore thrilled to participate.
