Powerful 6.2 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Nepal: Recalling the 2015 Devastation.

  New Delhi: A strong earthquake of a magnitude of 6.2 slammed Nepal this afternoon, leaving behind widespread traces of devastation. The terrible 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Nepal's capital city, Kathmandu, in 2015 leaves lasting recollections of its aftermath. Several buildings in the western Nepal district of Bajhang, near Uttarakhand, suffered considerable damage. The impact of the earthquake, which occurred at a depth of just five kilometers, caused homes to collapse, portions of buildings to crumble, and many perilous cracks to develop. The severe tremors exposed the structural vulnerabilities of several buildings. Today, in western Nepal, two consecutive earthquakes measuring 5.3 and 6.3 in magnitude were recorded. There is no news of casualties so far. The Kathmandu Post said that at 2:40 PM, a first earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 was registered, and at 3:06 PM, a second earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 was recorded in the Bajhang district.
